Summary Assigns work for Company and owner operator trailer drivers for conveyance of freight by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Compiles and maintains list of available drivers. • Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight. • Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers. • Trouble shooting and notifying appropriate parties of any changes. • Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return. • Investigates overdue vehicles. • Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio. • Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise. • Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
