About The Position

At Assort Health, we are on a mission to make exceptional healthcare accessible anytime, anywhere, for everyone. We believe healthcare should feel effortless and connected — quick answers, clear communication, and seamless access to care. We are building a new foundation for how patients and providers connect, driven by AI, and tailored to each provider’s unique needs. We are looking for a Conversation UX Designer to design and scale AI-driven conversations that feel human, intuitive, and transformative. You will be the bridge between our users and our AI products, shaping how people interact with our systems in real-world workflows, while helping us scale 3x. Your mission will be to create human-AI collaboration patterns that make our AI agents both practical and delightful, and define how conversational experiences evolve at Assort.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in UX design, conversation design, human-computer interaction, product design, applied research, or related fields.
  • Ability to blend qualitative insight (user research, workflow mapping) with quantitative rigor (experiments, data analysis).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills — able to bridge technical, business, and user contexts.
  • A builder’s mindset — experience helping design or scale new systems, workflows, or conversational products from scratch.
  • Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and brings clarity to evolving challenges.
  • Passion for healthcare innovation and improving patient or provider interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing chatbots, voice assistants, or enterprise-grade AI systems.
  • Hands-on experience with frontier AI tools.
  • Degrees in HCI, Computer Science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Design human-AI conversations — create dialogue flows, interaction patterns, and AI behaviors that map to real user workflows and goals.
  • Conduct research and experimentation — run field studies, prototypes, and feedback loops to uncover effective patterns of human-AI collaboration.
  • Translate insights into action — collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure AI experiences meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Build scalable conversation frameworks — design reusable templates, playbooks, and guidelines for consistent, high-quality AI interactions.
  • Advocate for users — champion clarity, empathy, and accessibility in every interaction to create trustworthy and enjoyable AI experiences.
  • Influence AI strategy — provide actionable recommendations for AI deployment, feature development, and roadmap planning.
