It is the responsibility of the Convention Sales Manager to screen and secure group bookings for MGM Resorts International properties. Rooms and Catering revenue will be the primary measurement. All tasks must be carried out in alignment with the policies, practices, and procedures of the department and MGM Resorts International. You will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us!

  • Identify new and repeat group/convention business.
  • Create awareness and actively sell MGM Resorts International through actively seeking out opportunities for Sales trips, attend conferences, tradeshows, and networking meetings to promote convention business and drive repeat business.
  • Manage incoming leads for prospective business, provide sales, services and coordination of group events on behalf of MGM Resorts.
  • Research and generate convention and hotel bookings in an assigned market and achieve an effective sales goal in room night quotas, telephone calls, site inspections, lead room nights and correspondence.
  • Host prospective clients visiting to the properties, including customer entertainment, dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying clients to shows.
  • Develop and implement recommendations to maximize revenue streams at MGM Resorts International properties.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with clients, property Catering, AV, and Convention Sales and Services.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • One (1) year or prior relevant experience, preferably in Convention Services and/or Sales.
  • Ability to achieve established monthly individual, room night and revenue goals within established deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with all stakeholders.
