About The Position

This full-time position contributes to Blarney Castle's success by assisting the store manager in providing work direction to a team of store associates to create and maintain our standards of service, cleanliness, and product quality for our customers. The shift supervisor will be responsible for supervising operations by deploying employees and delegating tasks to ensure BCOC's standards of service are met and are closely adhered to.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Progressively responsible retail experience.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to sit/stand for several hours in a row.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the assigned shift.
  • Ability to stand, stoop and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work inside coolers to stock and maintain inventory.
  • Ability to ascend and descend safely a five-foot ladder.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and presence at work is required.
  • Must be able to work primarily any shift, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Display a customer comes first attitude by ensuring every customer is provided with immediate and undivided attention of the staff.
  • Identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities to employees to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
  • Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, and timely coaching to employees on shift to ensure operational excellence and improve employee performance.
  • Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Provide feedback to store manager on employee's performance during shift.
  • Ensure that inventory levels are properly maintained within c-store operations to established standards.
  • Develop positive relationships with shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, need and concerns.
  • Follow BCOC's operational policies, and procedures, including those for cash handling, safety, and security.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety of employees during their shift and properly document any incidents that occur.
  • Complete Company sponsored training and required updates within specified training periods.
  • Complete necessary store paperwork at various locations the employee works at.
  • Exhibit good math skills to calculate change, volume sales, tax percentages, balance cash registers, and to calculate deli inventory usage, weights, costs, and volumes.
  • Organize and execute duties as assigned.
  • Provide valid proof of car insurance.
  • Perform store banking duties, including driving to the bank.
