About The Position

The Convenience Store Clerk is responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to customers while assisting in food service production and maintaining cleanliness in the store. The role involves following company policies regarding food safety, sales transactions, and various store operations. The clerk will also assist with stocking products, cleaning, and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for customers.

Requirements

• Retail experience in a similar position or proficiency in a similar task.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to use a cash register (POS system), computer, telephone, and other equipment.
• Willingness to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with customers of various socioeconomic levels.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food service production.
• Knowledge of state and local laws regarding sales.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist in food service production, including preparing sandwiches and other food items.
• Follow company food safety program.
• Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy.
• Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction.
• Keep workstation and store areas clean.
• Know and follow all state and local laws regarding cigarette/tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Follow company policies regarding coupon handling, check cashing, Lottery and Lotto sales, and money orders.
• Assist with stocking and ordering of store products.
• Sweep and mop work area and clean the concrete area around the fuel pumps.
• Maintain a clean and supplied public restroom area.
• Brew coffee as needed and clean food service equipment.
• Perform Computer Room duties, including app reporting and balancing of register tills.
