About The Position

The Convenience Store Clerk is responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to customers while assisting in food service production and maintaining store cleanliness. This role involves handling transactions, following safety and legal guidelines, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Requirements

• Retail experience in a similar position or proficiency in a similar task.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to use a cash register (POS system), computer, and other equipment as needed.
• Willingness to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with diverse customers and vendors.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with food service equipment.
• Knowledge of local and state laws regarding sales regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist in food service production, including preparing sandwiches and other food items.
• Follow company food safety program.
• Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy.
• Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation and store areas.
• Know and follow all state and local laws regarding cigarette/tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Follow federal laws regarding food stamps and coupon handling procedures.
• Adhere to company policies regarding check cashing, Lottery, and money orders.
• Assist with stocking and ordering of store products.
• Sweep and mop work area and clean the concrete area around fuel pumps.
• Maintain a clean and supplied public restroom area.
• Brew coffee and clean food service equipment as needed.
• Perform Computer Room duties, including app reporting and balancing of register tills.
