Seeking an Experienced Automation Controls Technician who can effectively program, debug, and troubleshoot highly automated equipment and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and electrical circuits. The ideal candidate will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects, utilizing data analysis to ensure high equipment reliability and uptime. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as the role involves working closely with team members from various departments to achieve shared goals. The pay range for this role is $30-$38/hr, plus $1.25 shift differential. Hours are Mon-Thurs 4pmpm-3am, OT as needed E.A. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace. Follow all safety rules and general plant regulations. Wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): cut-resistant gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, etc. Successfully complete mandatory quarterly E.A. Sween Safety training. Technical Scope Use a meter for high-level troubleshooting to the component level; act as first-level escalation support for maintenance teams. Escalate downtime situations to leadership for support in restoring equipment operation. Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize utilization. Monitor metrics and resolve equipment electrical problems to address performance deficiencies. Partner with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers for planning and coordinating new technology installations. Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations, and maintenance teams, explaining production impacts. Replace/program electrical components, including VFDs and PLC programming; demonstrate advanced electrical abilities with sensor technologies and reliability maintenance. Display advanced understanding of pneumatic processes and troubleshoot equipment; read schematics and interpret circuit designs and component functions. Troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems, interpret system readouts, and repair/replace electrical components (including ammonia and freon-based equipment). Help build and enhance PM procedures for all controls/electrical equipment; complete work orders in CMMS timely. Follow all aspects of the Maintenance Planning Process, including validating PM Job Plans and creating Work Orders in Asset Essentials. Understand and adhere to the Parts Process, including storeroom layout, parts checkout, and using Asset Essentials for part requests. Maintain good attendance, GMP, and safety records. Continuous Improvement Understand general principles and goals of the EAS Continuous Improvement/LEAN program. Actively participate in new equipment design/install projects. Engage in company-mandated or recommended training to grow skills within the role. Quality Understand SQF Level 3 (Food Safety & Quality), regulatory requirements, and HACCP plans. Recognize the responsibility in protecting food safety and quality through proper GMPs. Report any questionable product to QA, Supervisor, or QC. Teamwork Support and demonstrate the Spirit of E.A. Sween, inspiring others to do the same. Assist in creating a friendly, positive work environment and show respect for coworkers. Accept work instructions and complete requests from coworkers. Provide input and feedback on department updates and changes. Provide training for technicians as needed. Automation Technician: Demonstrate the mastery of the following standard work processes: Complete all required paperwork for Production and the department, including: Daily PM Walk Through Maintenance board Parts checkout sheet Work Orders (enter new and complete assigned) Other required documentation
