About The Position

A leading mechanical contractor in Los Angeles is seeking a talented BAS Controls Technician to support ongoing controls projects across the region. This field-focused position covers diagnostics,commissioning, programming, and coordination with subcontractors and internal teams.The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and ready to support projectsfrom initial startup through final turnover.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working with Building Automation or HVAC controls
• Exposure to platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, JCI, Andover, Schneider, or equivalent systems
• Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and controls logic skills
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable working both independently and with project teams
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

• Journeyman Electrical or mechanical trade certifications – preferred

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust, and repair Building Automation Systems (BAS) and related controls
• Perform commissioning activities, system testing, and point-to-point verification
• Assist with installation support, equipment startup, and programming-related tasks
• Modify and update BAS programs to align with design intent and operational requirements
• Conduct both on-site and remote system testing to validate performance
• Ensure systems comply with client standards, cybersecurity updates, and best practices
• Work directly with owners, GCs, and internal teams to resolve technical issues
• Serve as a lead technician or foreman for self-performed controls work when required
