About the position

Winpak Films Maintenance Department is seeking a Controls Technician to join their Maintenance team based out of Senoia, GA on a day shift Monday - Friday. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading automated control systems for various production machines in a manufacturing environment. Your contributions will support our ongoing commitment to operational efficiency, safety, and innovation, aligning with Winpak's dedication to delivering high-quality packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair process problems on automated systems, including electrical, control, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain PLC, HMI, and drive systems, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Develop, document, and maintain control systems designs and specifications for machine-to-machine data and MES integration.
  • Work closely with OEM representatives to understand program logic and troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for improvements and modifications to automated control systems.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Technicians on control systems and automated processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to integrate new systems and drive continuous improvement in plant operations.
  • Support the implementation of lean initiatives and quality and safety improvements.
  • Manage projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely execution and adherence to standards.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). Certification or diploma in Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Electronic Technology (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, specifically with automated control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, control, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in technical documentation and reporting.
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R), HMI, and drive systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and off-hours when required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Post-secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Advanced skills in PLC programming and control system diagnostics.
  • Experience with process automation and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
