About The Position

The Controls Tech I is responsible for supporting the installation of controls automation systems for conveyor systems to ensure project efficiency. Ensures all SWS standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent customer service, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical principles and experience with hand tools and electrical equipment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers in the accurate installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control systems for conveyor operations
  • Prepare job sites, to include organizing tools, materials, and equipment necessary for installations
  • Conduct routine inspections and assist in troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
  • Participate in on-the-job training to enhance skills and knowledge related to electrical installations and controls automation
  • Assist in documentation of work performed, including updates to system configurations and installation records
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Overtime pay at 1.5 times the hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a week
  • Double pay for hours worked on Sundays
  • Potential for shifts greater than 12 hours and/or work weeks greater than 60 hours during significant workload
  • Opportunity to work off-shift hours and weekends at manager’s discretion
