Requirements

  • Completion of a post-Secondary Diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with manufacturing systems, including PLC-based control systems and OPC interfaces preferable.
  • Previous experience working with Industrial Network Protocols (Device Net, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, HART).
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron).
  • Strong working knowledge of servo motor controls.
  • Knowledge of the installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting of route and switched network.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge in IEC programming languages (PLC and HMI programming).
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Prior working experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Possesses and commits to a high level of personal and ethical responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute a solid system for backup of all programs and parameters for all automation devices.
  • Identify and implement the most secure and effective way to store backup programs and associated parameters.
  • Setup calibration process for automation devices and their control instrumentations.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and skills by attending training sessions and seminars from major manufacturers of automation equipment and related associations.
  • Follow company’s health and safety program, rules and procedures and work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes.
  • Report food safety and food quality issues.
