About The Position

Royal Canin is seeking Controls Team Lead to join our exciting pet food business at a North Sioux City manufacturing plant. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. The Controls Team Lead is responsible for overseeing all maintenance and controls activities within their designated area. This role ensures compliance with established standards and promotes efficient workflows to support smooth production processes. The Controls Team Lead motivates, develops, and manages their team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position works closely with the site's technical leadership team, operations team leaders, and support functions such as Safety and Quality to achieve world-class maintenance standards. While most responsibilities are carried out through the associates reporting to the Controls Team Lead, the role also includes direct accountability for following up on factory-critical issues and advancing the team's maintenance strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 5 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven analytical capability and change management capability.
  • Solid understanding of & exposure to Automation/Controls Technology.
  • Experience in leading and delivering capital project.
  • Significant work experience in technical fields.
  • Project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of line management in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Senior Controls technicians, Software engineer, and Software and Factory/IT technicians to create & implement planned preventative maintenance plans to maximize factory performance and output.
  • Provide support to corrective maintenance activities done by shift Controls technicians to resolve high priority factory issues.
  • Develops and leads the factory Automation Roadmap aiming to drive safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Controls equipment.
  • Lead factory-wide CAB projects to drive priority initiatives.
  • Line management for a team of Controls associates; planning work and managing crewing levels, conducting training, and ensuring that all attendance, performance and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company procedures.
  • Building a high-performing team through developing associates individually and within the team.
  • Driving the engagement of associates through coaching and impact planning.
  • Developing associates through effective personal development plan management to ensure functional, team and personal development.
