In this role, you will perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls’ configuration and commissioning tools. You will troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues, respond to warranty calls, and deliver exceptional service to help customers improve building efficiency. As a trusted advisor, you will present solutions and outcomes during service visits to ensure customer satisfaction and facility performance.

Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year vocational program OR an associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
  • Three years of industry experience, or at least one year servicing electronic/mechanical systems within the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of HVAC control systems, facility management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally and ethically to customers and partners.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Leadership capability to support Mechanics working on basic Building Automation equipment.
  • PC proficiency and the ability to program HVAC-related software.

Responsibilities

  • Load software to system-level controllers.
  • Perform basic commissioning and diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators).
  • Complete all required commissioning documentation.
  • Communicate job progress, issues, and updates to management and contractors/customers.
  • Calibrate systems using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and site documentation.
  • Document system changes and provide input for as-built documentation.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers upon arrival and departure from worksites.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and attend required safety training.
  • Provide efficiency recommendations and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Prepare quotes to support recommended solutions.
