About The Position

This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. This position will be for the summer break term with the possibility to continue further into the semester. Under the guidance of a full-time JCI employee, the intern will be expected to perform HVAC or Fire Alarm design, create submittals, and perform general technical work in the district.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in engineering or HVAC or other technical degree.
• Currently a sophomore or higher status.
• Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and the appropriate applications, including Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
• Energetic and driven attitude - you do what it takes to get the task completed.
• Good organizational and problem solving skills.
• Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
• Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.
• Maintains a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
