Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new technologies and determine the impact of process changes or new processes on product quality and productivity.
  • Supervise and manage contractors and external engineering resources.
  • Coordinate all projects and operations schedules to implement changes with minimal impact on plant operations.
  • Support safety initiatives and a behavioral based safety observation program.
  • Implement cost saving, safety, and efficiency improvement projects in a GMP production environment.
  • Manage multiple projects in a highly collaborative and communicative environment.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Quality and Engineering personnel to incorporate new equipment, capabilities, and controls into plant operations while minimizing production interruptions.
  • Ensure uniformity of component specifications, system design, and documentation.
  • Incorporate principles of sanitary design and standardization into manufacturing equipment to assure high levels of product purity, food safety, and reliability.
  • Ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory compliance with NEC, GMP, SQF and other codes and standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience leading Automation projects.
  • Must be a self-starter with a high-level of integrity and honesty.
  • Must be able to coordinate with other departments and vendors effectively.
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems: ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Remote IO, PowerFlex Drives, E300/200 Electronic Overloads, Panelview Plus, PanelView 5000, Thin Client, Stratix switches, and generic field IO Devices.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Software and communication: Studio5K, FTView, Ethernet/IP, AssetCentre, Historian, ThinManager etc.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD - Autodesk software.
  • Electrical knowledge (National Electrical Code) and control system design to meet NEC and NFPA requirements.
  • Good understanding of motor controls circuits.
  • Hands-on experience calibrating/setting up industrial instrumentation, flowmeters, level sensors and others.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures & electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task with accuracy.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • HS Diploma Required. AS or BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Preferred.
