About The Position

The Controls & Integration Manager leads and develops the electrical engineering team and directs the planning, coordination, and completion of engineering projects. This role coordinates programs and activities to resolve manufacturing issues and support new process launches. The manager is accountable for developing controls and integration manufacturing capabilities and ensuring efficient, high-quality processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 5+ years of experience project management experience in controls/electrical/automation engineering supporting a modern manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated management experience directing major project work
  • PLC/HMI/SCADA architecture, programming standards, troubleshooting, and commissioning (multi-line manufacturing)
  • Industrial networks & communications (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA), device integration, and controls documentation practices
  • OT/Controls cybersecurity awareness (segmentation concepts, access control, backup/restore discipline) and change management
  • Controls lifecycle/obsolescence planning; migration planning to modern platforms with minimal downtime risk
  • Process data systems (data historians, tag structures, data quality, integration to business decision tools)
  • Project management (scope/schedule/budget/resource planning) and vendor/contractor coordination
  • Strong root-cause problem solving, corrective action discipline, and continuous improvement methods (Lean/5S/Six Sigma concepts)
  • Regulatory/code compliance mindset for electrical/controls standards and safe work practices
  • Leadership skills: coaching, performance management, cross‑functional communication, stakeholder management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a major product start‑up and/or new facility construction/launch strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Owns plant controls and integration capability by leading the electrical/controls engineering team
  • Governing controls standards, lifecycle/obsolescence strategy, and regulatory compliance
  • Delivering projects and process-data solutions that improve operational reliability, decision-making, and continuous improvement across the facility
