About The Position

Within our Corporate Project Engineering team located in Denver – Leprino is seeking a Controls Integration Engineer II to move our organization to even larger levels of cheese and dairy ingredient growth! This position has an annual target bonus of 10%. Based on your experience, we may also consider you for our Associate, Engineer I, or Senior levels, which each have their own pay ranges and target bonus structures.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in PLC or SCADA integration, including programming with ControlLogix processors or using the Wonderware software suite such as System Platform, InTouch, DASABCIP, InSQL, or MES Operations.
  • A background supporting small capital projects or system-level automation work.
  • The ability to travel up to 50 percent to our domestic facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment as a controls engineer.
  • Familiarity with robotic integration or advanced industrial communication networks.
  • Prior involvement in the installation or validation of new line automation as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Build automation applications that expand our process capabilities and help our teams improve how plants operate.
  • Write controls solutions that create seamless integration across Leprino plants while supporting reliable, transparent system performance.
  • Develop and update PLC and HMI programs with clear documentation that supports safe, long-term use.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems to restore performance and reduce production interruptions.
  • Focus on smaller capital projects and hands on automation work, while teaming with Controls Engineers who guide the controls scope for major capital projects at our plants.
  • Support new equipment installation, system commissioning, testing, and validation for pneumatics, servos, variable frequency drives, relays, communication networks, HMI screens, pushbuttons, and robotic elements.
  • Present practical guidance to plant personnel and help newer engineers develop strong technical skills.
  • Review project needs, organize work to fit timelines, and identify early signs of scope changes that affect budget or deliverables.
  • Contribute to automation improvements that reduce losses, enhance performance, and strengthen the stability of our manufacturing systems.
  • Share accurate progress updates, support safe work practices, and help maintain high quality standards in a regulated environment.
