About The Position

Milacron is looking for a Controls Engineering Intern to join their team in Batavia, OH. The Controls Engineering Intern will provide software development support for Milacron’s controls team by taking on well-defined controls system tasks. The intern will be onboarded to the controls architecture and development environment, then work under a mentor who will assign tasks, guide execution, and review completed work. Milacron is a global leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of highly engineered and customized systems within the $27 billion plastic technology and processing industry. They are the only global company with a full-line product portfolio that includes hot runner systems, injection molding, extrusion equipment. Milacron maintains strong market positions across these products, as well as leading positions in process control systems, mold bases and components, maintenance, repair and operating (“MRO”) supplies for plastic processing equipment. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (first- or second-year students preferred)
  • Understanding of software development concepts (coursework and/or project experience)
  • Strong interest in controls systems, automation, or industrial software development
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and follow established development practices
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and willingness to accept feedback

Responsibilities

  • Complete controls development tasks to support overall program timelines and scheduled milestones
  • Learn the controls architecture and development environment
  • Work with a mentor who will assign tasking, provide guidance, and review deliverables
  • Support the team by improving throughput on lower-complexity items to help keep broader development work on track
