About The Position

Responsible for continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment including design and PLC program changes, mechanical and electrical documentation, Six Sigma variation reduction, uptime improvements, and maintenance expense reduction. Efficiently uses problem solving techniques including Pareto analysis, cause and effect analysis, multi-variable analysis, FMEA's and DOE's to reach solutions. Provides technical support for plant operations including maintenance support, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma project rollout support. Acts as liaison between plant and Division Engineering personnel, in communicating engineering needs process changes, project reporting, etc. Monitors process, including new equipment and tools, to ensure performance to specifications. Implements capital and non-capital projects. Works with plant quality control and manufacturing personnel to ensure process and equipment can produce product that meets quality and engineering standards. Review new and modified specifications for proper content and schedules their introduction into the manufacturing system. Identify causes and develop strategies for eliminating re-occurring downtime. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field of study.
  • 1 year of experience in Automation and Controls Manufacturing.
  • 1 year of experience with robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics (Fanuc, ABB, or Denso).
  • 1 year of experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Providing technical direction to projects, assisting in the generation of Allen Bradley programs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for manufacturing processes.
  • Analyzing manufacturing processes and helping make improvements based on knowledge of electronics, engineering and automation.
  • Programming software including any of the following: RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, Factory Talk View, WINCAPSIII, Cognex Insight vision systems or similar software.
  • Utilizing electrical engineering terms, concepts, principles and drawings for technical problem solving.
  • Using electrical theory, control components, robotics and automation.
  • Working with industrial networking between automation Logic Controllers (Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Serial, or Data Highway +) and Windows software running on a computer.
  • Manufacturing equipment related to conveying, chemical process transfer, electrical rectification, or automated equipment.
  • Electrical or mechanical design of manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting and replacement of machine components.
  • Packaging, labeling and palletizing of components or finished materials.
  • Troubleshooting of automation controls or programming to include Automation, PLC, and MHI programming.
  • Coordinating multiple optimization, automation, and manufacturing projects while prioritizing and utilizing available resources.
