Are you looking for a rewarding career? Position Overview We are seeking a Controls Engineer with experience in natural gas facilities to design, implement, and support advanced control systems. This role will focus on PLC control system design, programming, integration, and on-site commissioning for gas processing and distribution operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise and hands-on field experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Controls Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of controls engineering experience.
  • Experience in natural gas pipeline, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming.
  • Experience developing HMIs and working with SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field and office environments.
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and commission PLC systems for natural gas facilities, including platforms such as Allen Bradley Logix, Siemens PCS7, DeltaV.
  • Develop and implement control strategies to optimize gas processing operations.
  • Create and maintain P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams).
  • Develop control narratives, loop diagrams, and network architecture documentation.
  • Develop user operation and maintenance documentation for field service techs and end-user customers.
  • Ensure designs align with project specifications and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain existing control systems.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Provide training to other team members and customers on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation of designed systems.
  • Identify and implement system improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure systems comply with applicable industry standards
  • Support safety reviews, hazard analyses, and compliance audits.
  • Perform and assist others with on-site commissioning and startup activities.
  • Oversee installation and testing of control panels and field instrumentation.
  • Travel to project sites as required, estimated up to 40%.
