As a Controls Engineer at Marble, you will help lead the development and support of advanced control systems for our intelligent, automated food processing solutions. You will work at the intersection of industrial controls, robotics, machine vision, and intelligent software to build automation systems capable of operating in highly variable real-world environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting advanced PLC programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Must be comfortable operating in a food processing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware and software
  • Experience with advanced machine safety systems
  • Experience with multi-axis servo motion control
  • Experience with industrial robotics

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and control architectures for automated machinery and robotic systems
  • Specify and integrate hardware including sensors, VFDs, networking equipment, servo motion control systems, HMIs, scales, printers, scanners, and pneumatic systems
  • Develop and maintain PLC programs for advanced automation systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, controls, and communications issues
  • Generate UL508A electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and other system documentation
  • Collaborate with Marble software, mechanical, robotics, and vision teams
  • Interface with vendors, integrators, and customers during project execution
  • Support production assembly, testing, and commissioning of equipment
  • Mentor junior controls engineers and technicians
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems during commissioning and production use
  • Produce clear engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and design documentation
  • Ensure designs are robust, maintainable, and safe for industrial environments
  • Support continuous improvement of existing equipment
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians
