International in San Antonio is growing and is looking to add a Conrols Engineer to their team. The Controls Engineer will support automation systems critical to the efficient and safe operation of manufacturing processes. This role involves programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop, modify, and maintain PLC programs.
  • Design and update HMI screens and SCADA dashboards to improve visibility and high performance.
  • Configure and validate control system hardware and safety devices.
  • Support firmware upgrades for VFDs, safety controllers, and network devices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  • Analyze downtime data and implement system improvements for reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation projects.
  • Implement new automation solutions and integrate them with existing production lines.
  • Maintain accurate electrical schematics, control logic documentation, and SCADA standards.
  • Contribute to developing plant-wide automation best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree and no experience
  • OR
  • At least 2 years of product manufacturing experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
  • We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley Logix 5000 Safety Controllers.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (Ignition preferred).
  • Knowledge of industrial networks.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and data integration for SCADA systems.
