The Controls Engineer supports ongoing Lonza operations through technical assistance as it relates to the manufacturing and process automation systems. Provides a technical resource to operations customers to ensure that instrumentation and automation systems are designed and operating to meet production needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field or Computer Science.
  • 4+ years related work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to think critically and logically.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with other collaborating teams.
  • Able to work "on-call" hours as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and processes automation systems.
  • Assist with tech transfer, projects, and process improvements as needed.
  • Support resolution of equipment breakdowns and quality issues in the suites.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and processes automation systems including PI data analyses, review/troubleshooting code, etc. both during normal business hours and as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Performs all work safely and meets the requisite training requirements.
  • Initiates change controls and participates in all aspects of the change controls process.
  • Complete change request lot assessments to support lot release.
