Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, this role is central to ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance control solutions across process equipment, gas handling systems, and supporting infrastructure in a highly regulated nuclear environment. 🌟 Contribute directly to a first-of-its-kind nuclear technology program Work alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and operators in a mission-driven environment Influence plant-wide control strategies and system architecture Grow your career in a technically challenging, highly regulated industry with strong long-term impact

Requirements

  • Active DOE Q-Clearance or equivalent (DoD Top Secret), or the ability to obtain and maintain one
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
  • Experience programming PLC-based control systems
  • Familiarity with control valves, pressure systems, and field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms (FactoryTalk View, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500)
  • Working knowledge of industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, RS-232)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required and travel as needed
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Clearance, as well as ongoing eligibility for nuclear site access due to the sensitive nature of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in advanced control system design techniques, including cascaded control loops, time-proportioned control, and predictive control algorithms
  • Experience with SCADA systems and data historians
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards such as NIST SP 800-82 or ISA/IEC 62443
  • Experience collaborating closely with operators to design and refine high-performance HMIs
  • Background working in classified, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement current and future control solutions to advance enrichment technology
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and select control systems that automate enrichment process equipment
  • Partner with technicians to construct, install, and support safe and efficient control systems
  • Lead commissioning and testing of control systems to verify functional and operational requirements
  • Integrate individual equipment control systems into the broader plant control system architecture
