Controls Engineer I
About The Position
Bastian Solutions seeks a Controls Engineer, Indianapolis, IN (HQ). Telecommuting from Anywhere in the U.S. Permitted. Participate in the full scope of controls engineering projects for material handling systems technology and automation; Projects may encompass: onsite hardware/software installation and debugging, device troubleshooting, PLC/VLC programming, panel, and schematic design, some HMI tagging, network design, component selection, and purchasing and post go-live system support with a focus on both design engineering and onsite commissioning; Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition; Work with Controls Drafters to create complete CAD packages both for installation and asbuilt documentation; Work with Controls HMI Engineers to create world-class HMIs; Develop processes to help support our team growth; Solve problems for our team and customers; Attend weekly Controls meetings and other scheduled meetings on time; Recruit and critique key suppliers of technology/software; Develop new controls techniques or equipment that will help maintain Bastian Solutions as a leader in our industry
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or other closely related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 3 years of experience in the following skills: Modifying and writing unique PLC logic; Creating and modifying HMI program; Creating and modifying CAD files; Panel design; PLC/VLC Programming; and Hands-on mechanical Engineering for Material Handling systems.
