As a Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the designing of advanced building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of overall HVAC controls experience (excluding end-user-only experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with a concentration in HVAC&R.
  • Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
  • Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Under minimal direction, plan, prioritize and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritizing tasks to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.
  • Manage several components of a large scale, complex, or significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage major responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines on a regular basis.
  • Perform complex engineering activities that may not be attributed to a defined discipline and provides guidance to less senior employees.
  • Design and program building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control systems, and control algorithms.
  • Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
  • Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.
  • Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
  • Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
  • Test programming and interfaces prior to implantation.
  • Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
  • Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
  • Support of functional testing for building systems.
  • Jobsite visits if necessary to aid in project support
