We are seeking a talented Senior Controls Engineer to join our team in Whitakers, NC, specializing in Manufacturing. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and optimization of control systems that ensure our products operate efficiently and reliably. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing control systems that meet required specifications, enhancing overall performance, and implementing bench tests to validate the functionality of sensors and actuators. This will help identify any issues early in the development process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality. You will also be tasked with optimizing software and equipment to improve the accuracy and reliability of our systems, which is essential for maintaining product quality. Supporting and debugging complex problems will be a key part of your role, as you work to minimize downtime and resolve issues quickly. Additionally, you will prepare cost estimates and write appropriation requests to manage project budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and projects stay within financial constraints. Your role will involve investigating project problems and requirements, developing plans for solutions, and ensuring that projects are completed successfully while considering economic, personnel, and environmental factors. You will be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software, ensuring these systems function optimally. Collaboration with other engineering disciplines in the plant will be essential as you work to develop and improve processes and equipment. You will also work with equipment suppliers to drive programming, networking architecture, hardware, and documentation standards for new equipment, including PLC, HMI, and CMES programming changes, as well as providing production support as needed.
