About The Position

The Controls Engineer works closely with sales, marketing, design engineering, and manufacturing to improve processes, implement testing procedures, and drive operational efficiency with regards to electrical designs and direct digital controls programming for air handling products.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required.
  • 4 Year / bachelor’s degree in engineering required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new controls product designs and redesigns in coordination with sales, marketing, service, and manufacturing functions.
  • Ensure products meet control design functionality of required points of operation and design intent.
  • Assist in the identification of controls strategies for optimal use of product applications.
  • Review, clarify, and validate deliverables to both internal and external customers.
  • Develop bill of materials, complete IAN, and communicate translation requirement related to new or changed designs.
  • Support the transition from design into production, including any necessary testing and training required for implementing new or changed designs.
  • Evaluate components for quality, reliability and performance and make recommendations to engineering and purchasing.
  • Participate in value engineering projects to continually improve designs and processes.
  • Full comprehension and understanding of supported Greenheck product lines including functionality, performance, BOM, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external customers including the areas of product selection and application.
  • Provide content for the development and updating of product literature.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation on design changes and requests.
  • Communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing.
  • Assist in presenting training seminars internally and externally.
  • May provide basic technical and application expertise for general knowledge of related control products.
  • Assist with new procedures and processes.
  • Support the prototyping and testing of new designs, including the interpretation of test results.
  • May be required to set up and run equipment in house.
  • Collaborate with the shop floor and listen to their ideas and opportunities.
  • Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns.
  • Assist in resolving issues as they arise.
  • Review/evaluate returned goods and determine root cause of failures and disposition of materials.
  • Participate in cross functional project teams as the representative SME for Controls Engineering.
  • Assist in the selection, specification, and testing of product components.
