Controls Engineer - Field Service

Elliott Group, Ebara Corp

About The Position

The Controls Engineer – Field Service role involves the same activities as our current Technical Field Service Advisors but focuses on controls rather than mechanical rotating equipment. The Controls Engineer will provide customers with technical advice, analyze system controls, and modify programming as necessary to ensure the controls of rotating equipment operate as per design. The four most important aspects of the job are: Analyzing PLC and written code to ensure rotating equipment operates within specified parameters. Performing electrical and instrumentation checks using diagnostic equipment. Troubleshooting the entire rotating equipment train to locate equipment not functioning based on given control commands. Writing professional daily and final reports of work performed, which are delivered to customers as final documentation of the job. The activities will be governed by API and Ansi requirements, necessitating knowledge of these regulatory requirements. The position requires a unique individual who has programming experience and knowledge on non-OEM equipment, as work will not always be on EEE equipment. Contact with Others: Internal Contacts: Regular contact with the internal FS team, including coordinators, project managers, purchasing, tooling, and the regional FS manager. External Contacts: Direct contact with customer plant managers, maintenance managers, and reliability engineering teams. Travel Requirements: 70-80% travel throughout North America. Supervision: The position is primarily that of an Individual contributor. However, the individual will occasionally provide direction on field jobs when the customer hires EEE to perform a turn-key solution. This direction includes: Lining out the schedule of activities. Turning in time to payroll for the crews. Monitoring the progress of the team during the execution of projects.
