As a Data Center Automation Engineer at Design Group, you will join a committed team of over 1500 professionals and work directly with clients to deliver innovative automation and monitoring solutions for mission-critical data center environments. Your role will involve engineering, designing, and programming Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), contributing to the technical direction and standards for these systems, and championing innovation in BAS/EPMS technologies.

  • Engineer, design, and program Data Center Building Automation Systems (BAS, BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
  • Execute the full lifecycle of complex BAS and EPMS projects from requirements gathering to implementation and client turnover.
  • Guide teams on BAS and EPMS designs and standards for diverse clients and projects.
  • Develop enterprise-wide standards and best practices for building automation and power monitoring.
  • Translate technical needs into engineered solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging tools, protocols, and strategies to improve system resilience and energy efficiency.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience in building automation and EPMS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering or similar.
  • Expertise in BAS and EPMS platforms and PLC, such as Rockwell Studio 5000 and Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Experience with field instrumentation, industrial networking, system integration, and SCADA architectures.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interface with technical teams and executive-level clients.
  • Analytical mindset with advanced troubleshooting abilities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project execution and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of datacenter commissioning requirements L1-L5.
  • Experience with datacenter greenfield construction.
  • Proficient in using revision/version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Project management experience.
  • SCADA design and network engineering experience.
