As a Data Center Automation Engineer at Design Group, you will play a pivotal role within the Control System Integration Practice. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, power systems specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver innovative, high-reliability automation and monitoring solutions tailored for mission-critical data center environments. This position involves engineering, designing, and programming Data Center Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), executing the full lifecycle of complex projects, and contributing to the development of enterprise-wide standards and best practices. You will also serve as a partner to clients, translating technical needs into engineered solutions and championing innovation in BAS/EPMS technologies.

  • Engineer, design, and program Data Center Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
  • Execute the full lifecycle of complex BAS and EPMS projects from requirements gathering to client turnover.
  • Use industry knowledge to guide teams on BAS and EPMS designs and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise-wide standards and best practices for building automation and power monitoring.
  • Serve as a partner to clients, translating technical needs into engineered solutions.
  • Champion innovation in BAS/EPMS technologies and evaluate emerging tools and strategies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience in building automation and electrical power monitoring systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering or similar.
  • Expertise in BAS and EPMS platforms and PLC, such as Rockwell Studio 5000 and Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Experience with field instrumentation, industrial networking, system integration, and SCADA architectures.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interface with technical teams and executive-level clients.
  • Analytical mindset with advanced troubleshooting abilities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project execution.
  • Knowledge of datacenter/mission critical commissioning requirements L1-L5.
  • Experience with datacenter and mission critical greenfield construction.
  • Proficient in using revision/version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Project management experience.
