About the position

The Controls Engineer Co-Op and Internship at JR Automation offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the automation industry. Interns will assist experienced Controls Engineers in designing, building, programming, and deploying custom automated equipment and solutions. This role emphasizes learning and flexibility, allowing interns to contribute positively to the company while developing their technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support other Controls Engineers.
• Troubleshoot wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits.
• Wire according to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Install piping and hoses to customer and JR Automation standards.
• Learn and perform basic programming skills.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic proficiency in CAD.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
• Basic proficiency in programming languages.
