The position involves reviewing manufacturing system requirements and designing robust software applications. The candidate will create and document GCCS and Non GCCS standards for manufacturing requirements, interface with other ME departments and regional automation execution teams to gather feedback, and document manufacturing requirements. The role also includes interfacing with execution teams, equipment suppliers, and manufacturing integration suppliers to ensure software application designs comply with GM standards. The candidate will manage detailed designs by contractors when necessary, specify software guidance, functional requirements, and integration methods, and evaluate and validate new software for use in manufacturing plants. Additionally, the role requires providing on-site and remote technical support for plant software issues, new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel. The candidate will also provide training and documentation for global deployment of standard GCCS and NON GCCS software, educate regional execution teams, and provide plant technical support with the development, planning, and strategies for maintaining and replacing obsolete equipment. Telecommuting is available 2 days a week, with 5% travel to client sites nationwide.
