About The Position

Controls and Power Systems Maintenance Technician Location: Downingtown, PA Is this you? Do you solve electrical problems fast—across 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems—without compromising safety? Can you read a schematic, design a control circuit, and bring a PLC-controlled line back online under pressure? Are you comfortable with NEC-driven work practices, OSHA-compliant lockout/tagout, and precise alignments? Will you mentor others, coordinate with supervisors, and lead by example during plant emergencies? If so, you’ll thrive in this role. Role challenges you’ll own Apply electrical theory, NEC knowledge, and material properties to maintain and improve industrial systems. Start up and shut down equipment per company procedures and OSHA requirements. Use electrical test gear to pinpoint defects in wiring, switches, motors, and related equipment. Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, and printed circuit boards. Measure, cut, thread, pull, and install conduit; safely use hand and power tools. Install conduits, transformers, pull boxes, and switches. Service and repair starters, motors, and diverse electrical apparatus. Fabricate parts not commercially available using standard machine and hand tools. Assess conditions and perform running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls. Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers, and PLCs. Install/repair electrical equipment; design control circuits; install electrical wiring. Identify equipment/material needs; read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Coordinate with Maintenance and Production Supervisors/Managers to meet project goals. Assist in training and skill-building for maintenance staff and production associates. Maintain demonstrated proficiency aligned with role expectations. Participate in plant emergencies and maintain required certifications/training to respond. Provide leadership consistent with all safety programs.

Requirements

  • 5 years journey-level experience in industrial maintenance (installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment).
  • Ability to read and understand safety protocols and equipment manuals written in English.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints/schematics and resolve root causes of failures.
  • Knowledge of low and high voltage systems and basic wiring principles.
  • Experience with precision equipment alignment.
  • Hands-on with fabrication, installation, and maintenance of production/support equipment (arc welders, oxy‑acetylene torches, saws, drills, grinders, pumps, engines).
  • Meets all testing/training requirements.
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and electrical troubleshooting, including 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems.
