About The Position

Argus Consulting is seeking a Controls & Integration Technician III to join our team based out of our Overland Park, Kansas headquarters. This role supports Argus’s Industrial Systems Security (ISS) program and is ideal for a technically curious professional who enjoys working at the intersection of controls, automation, networking, and cybersecurity. In this role, you’ll support the assessment, documentation, and lifecycle management of customer control systems and automation equipment. You’ll work both independently and alongside senior team members to gather system data, support cybersecurity documentation, provide Level 1 technical support, and continue building hands-on expertise with SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, and related hardware and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking concepts
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to travel for support services, documentation, installation, and startup assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Relational database experience (SQL, DB2, or similar) is a plus
  • Knowledge of or interest in computer programming languages such as C++, Python, or Visual Basic

Responsibilities

  • Develop or assist with lifecycle analysis of customer control systems, automation hardware, and software
  • Survey and document physical networking equipment and system layouts to support ISS requirements
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of cybersecurity-related documentation
  • Review, log, and track customer inventories for product lifecycle updates, manufacturer alerts, and cybersecurity advisories
  • Monitor governing agency and manufacturer notices related to hardware, firmware, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Provide Level 1 technical support for installed control systems and document details for potential issue escalation
  • Create or update detailed inventories related to controls, networking, and electrical systems through onsite verification
  • Participate in structured training related to SCADA systems, PLCs, and controls and integration hardware/software
  • Comply with applicable industry codes, safety standards, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and apply learned concepts to system implementation
