About The Position

This position is responsible for the identification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial and commercial instrumentation and control systems. The incumbent has expert knowledge of procedures and technical concepts within own area and applies expert knowledge of regulations and standards to assignments. They evaluate complex situations using multiple, varied sources of information and interpret information to develop solutions. This role shares technical expertise with others and provides guidance and support. The incumbent mentors new team members in technical area. This position completes advanced technical assignments that require creativity and judgment. Qualified applicants must possess tangible experience in troubleshooting mechanical / electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment. They must have a thorough knowledge of instrument and meter calibration methods and standards. Technicians must follow all established safety, GMP`s and environmental standards and adhere to all plant technical standards. Technicians must also align with all federal, state, local and company regulations including OSHA, FDA, EPA and SQF. This role has a responsibility for ensuring both food safety and quality of Chobani product.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of electrical, PLC and instrumentation experience working in an industrial facility
  • Associates degree in the field of controls/automation or related preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC systems troubleshooting and programming specifically focused on Allen Bradley PLC
  • General knowledge of HMI systems focused on Rockwell Factory Talk View ME/SE
  • Broad knowledge of automation and electrical devices and equipment
  • Intermediate knowledge of personal computers, calibration software and windows operating systems
  • Ability to use electrical diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams
  • Ability to effectively cooperate with personnel of different backgrounds and skill level
  • Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others
  • Ability to create and maintain relevant documentation and to prioritize and complete multiple tasks given time constraints

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and repair plant instrumentation and control devices (Pressure, Flow, Level Temperature, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems
  • Identify problem root cause by observing mechanical systems and devices in operation; listening for problems and using precision measuring and electrical testing instrumentation and other troubleshooting methods.
  • Use Electronic Test Equipment (VOM, O-Scope, Megger, Calibrators, etc.)
  • Apply Electrical Codes and Standards
  • Provide maintenance break/fix support for automation related issues
  • Serve as automation and controls authority on local project teams. Train operations and other groups as needed
  • Serve as a high-level technical support resource for complex automation and electrical issues
  • Redline all Automation related programs and documentation including PLC programs, HMI programs, electrical drawings, P&IDs, pin charts, functional analyses, sequence of operations, etc.
  • Assist with other plant or department members in developing and championing programs and projects as required
  • Continually seek out best processes and share with the organization
  • Share of general knowledge within facility and organizational peer groups
  • Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
