About The Position

The Associate, Product Controllers position at Goldman Sachs involves managing day-to-day reporting and month-end/quarter-end closing processes. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related financial analysis field and one year of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related financial analysis field and three years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Experience utilizing fair value accounting skills to ensure compliance with Financial Accounting Standard 157 (FAS 157).
  • Experience coordinating financial reporting deliverables related to earnings release, Form 10-K, and Form 10-Q preparation.
  • Experience coordinating various regulatory reporting deliverables related to regulated entities of the firm.
  • Experience overseeing books and records of investment-related transactions and preparing supporting documentation including reconciliations to the firm's ledger.
  • Experience ensuring appropriate accounting and regulatory treatment for new investments.
  • Experience working on strategic automation initiatives around Profit & Loss and balance sheet workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day reporting and month-end/quarter-end closing processes.
  • Prepare books and records of investment-related transactions including P&L, purchases, sales, and valuation adjustments.
  • Conduct P&L and balance sheet reporting, analyzing key drivers/trends in business performance.
  • Manage submission of information for external footnote disclosures and regulatory filings related to alternative investments.
  • Monitor and book economics related to tax credit investments in the alternative energy space.
  • Coordinate with deal teams, Tax, Operations, and Legal Entity Controllers for appropriate accounting.
  • Perform illiquid valuation review and independent price verification across various alternative asset classes.
  • Review new deals and engage with deal teams to ensure appropriate accounting and regulatory treatment.
  • Participate in strategic projects to drive collaboration and automation of processes.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests from various divisions and departments.
