About The Position

2024 USA Today Top Workplace! We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Automotive Controller to join our accounting team based out of our corporate office in Edmond, OK. As a Controller, you will assist in the overseeing of financial operations of our automotive business, ensuring utmost accuracy, strict compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the automotive retail industry.
Strong knowledge of financial management principles, GAAP, and automotive industry financial practices.
Proficiency in automotive accounting software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in the automotive sector.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining internal controls and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Oversee aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with meticulous attention to detail.
Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic cost reduction measures.
Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions with precision and accountability.
Develop and rigorously maintain internal controls to ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with senior management to provide critical financial insights and support data-driven strategic decision-making.
Manage and maintain professional relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
Provide authoritative supervision and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Maintain current knowledge of automotive industry trends and financial best practices to ensure the company's financial strategies remain at the forefront of the industry.
