About The Position

2024 USA Today Top Workplace! We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Automotive Controller to join our accounting team based out of our corporate office in Edmond, OK. As a Controller, you will assist in the overseeing of financial operations of our automotive business, ensuring utmost accuracy, strict compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the automotive retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, GAAP, and automotive industry financial practices.
  • Proficiency in automotive accounting software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in the automotive sector.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining internal controls and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic cost reduction measures.
  • Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions with precision and accountability.
  • Develop and rigorously maintain internal controls to ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide critical financial insights and support data-driven strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and maintain professional relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
  • Provide authoritative supervision and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Maintain current knowledge of automotive industry trends and financial best practices to ensure the company's financial strategies remain at the forefront of the industry.
