The Controller position at Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a pivotal role focused on providing outsourced accounting services to nonprofit organizations. This position is designed for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting nonprofits and is capable of managing multiple clients effectively. The Controller will be responsible for transforming financial departments, ensuring compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency while fostering strong client relationships.

  • Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients.
  • Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
  • Prepare financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Handle transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for and manage annual audits.
  • Provide client and staff training opportunities.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7 plus years accounting experience.
  • Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis.
  • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems.
  • Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting or consulting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various GL packages and electronic bill pay systems.
