About The Position

The purpose of this position is to act as a business partner to the Plant Manager, directing the finance function at a manufacturing facility for Whitehall Castings in Whitehall, MI. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: directing the daily activities of the General and Cost Accounting personnel and ensuring adherence to company policy; ensuring plant controlling teams are informed and trained on controlling procedures and policies and tools; providing timely analysis, data, and information to senior management; assisting in the development, analysis, and implementation of all plans, forecasts, and projections and maintaining a system to monitor such plans; performing special assignments within the realm of the accounting area and working with limited supervision; being responsible for timely submission of reports and other data as required by group and corporate personnel and coordination of activities of internal and external audit staffs; maintaining adequate internal accounting controls including cash, payrolls, and accounts payable inventory; participating in the planning, training, taking, and auditing of physical inventories and the analysis of final results; maintaining the Capital asset System and ensuring timeliness and accuracy of data; ensuring that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards; maintaining full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducting all activities in accordance with the Howmet Guide to Business Conduct to include ASATS and SOX compliance; ensuring consistency and standardization of controlling processes within the Industrial group; alerting and arbitrating in case of discrepancies; participating in the development of action plans and ensuring their financial evaluation and follow-up; demonstrating a knowledge of and commitment to Howmet Business Systems manufacturing principles and techniques.

Requirements

  • BS in Business Administration and/or Finance Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years related financial/controllership work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • MBA, CMA and/or CPA.
  • Plant Controller experience for a manufacturing facility with at least $150 million in annual revenues.
  • At least 5 years' supervisory experience with the ability to manage and develop Staff (Financial and Operational).
  • High proficiency in using MS Office software, experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems.
  • Project management, multi-tasking and developing/executing data queries.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/high intensity environment.
  • Strong cost accounting skills - Multi level Routing and Bill of material Cost Accounting Experience.
