About The Position

The Controller is a high-level executive responsible for leading all financial strategy, operations, and compliance. This role requires extensive expertise in financial leadership, strategic planning, and business operations. The Controller serves as a key strategic partner to the C-suite, driving financial performance, optimizing business processes, and providing critical insights to shape company-wide decisions. This position plays a pivotal role in the organization's growth, risk management, and long-term financial health.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
5+ years progressive Accounting experience
Proven track record of driving financial strategy in a complex business environment
Expert knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
Strong understanding of industry-specific accounting practices and commodity markets
Advanced skills in financial systems, data analytics, and business intelligence tools
Exceptional leadership abilities with experience managing large, diverse teams
Superior strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence at all levels

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree in Accounting or related field
dditional certifications such as CMA, CIA, or CGMA
CPA certification
8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Grain accounting experience

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to drive company growth and profitability
Lead all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis
Spearhead the design and implementation of sophisticated financial systems and controls
Direct complex financial modeling and scenario planning to support major strategic initiatives
Lead M&A activities from a financial perspective, including due diligence and integration
Oversee capital structure management and relationships with investors and financial institutions
Drive digital transformation of finance functions, leveraging advanced technologies and analytics
Provide strategic financial counsel to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders
Lead and develop a large, diverse finance organization across multiple locations or business units
Ensure compliance with complex regulatory requirements and manage relationships with auditors
Identify and mitigate financial risks across the organization
Drive operational efficiency and cost optimization initiatives across the company
