The Controller, Expenditures is responsible for overseeing the organization's spending activities, including accounts payable, inventory costing, and fixed assets. This role ensures that all expenditures are accurately recorded, properly authorized, and aligned with the company's financial policies and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong understanding of financial controls, cost accounting and management of a team.

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of Accounts Payable, Property Accounting, and Inventory and Cost Accounting across multiple locations.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and internal policies related to the expense or capitalization of Company expenditures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to expenditures, inventory, accruals, and prepaid items.
  • Review monthly general ledger transactions and make corrections as needed to ensure proper internal and external reporting.
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations performed by subordinates to ensure complete and accurate financial information.
  • Collaborate with groups including Purchasing, IT, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance to review assets (inventory and PP&E) for impairment at least quarterly.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of audit PBCs and requests.
  • Assist in the performance of quarterly controls around inventory counts at all applicable locations. Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA a plus).
  • CPA preferred.
  • Eight years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and expense management tools (e.g., Concur, Workday) a plus.
