BWXT is seeking a high-impact Controller to oversee the financial operations of our Enrichment Operations in Oak Ridge, TN. The Controller's responsibilities include analyzing financial data, creating budgets, and providing accurate financial reports to management. The Controller will collaborate with other departments to minimize production costs and maximize profits while ensuring compliance with all financial policies and government regulations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with an advanced degree being preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial reporting, financial systems, and leadership.
  • Experience with DOD or DOE government accounting, revenue recognition, FAR/DFARS and other government contract compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Ability to report to an assigned work location in Oak Ridge, TN.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and review the overall accounting department operations and activities.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the accounting department.
  • Direct the execution of the financial accounting cycle, including but not limited to month end close, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, and various supporting analysis.
  • Design, develop, and implement financial systems and their modifications and enhancements.
  • Review and monitor compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.
  • Perform staff planning, performance reviews, and budgeting functions for the department.
  • Generate the company's financial reports in a timely manner, including site-specific reports and analysis.
  • Evaluate and assess all phases of the capital assets program.
  • Ensure financials are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
