Controller / Construction Project Accountant (Executive-Level)
About The Position
Omari Construction LLC is seeking an Executive-Level Controller / Construction Project Accountant to lead the entire financial execution and accounting infrastructure of a multi-division construction platform. This role is not transactional accounting. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for building, managing, and maintaining a fully scalable, audit-ready financial system across all operations. The Controller will act as the internal financial operator, working directly with executive leadership and our Fractional CFO (Focus CFO) to ensure that all financials are accurate, real-time, structured, and capable of supporting $25M+ projects, bonding requirements, and institutional-level reporting standards.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of construction accounting experience
- Deep expertise in: Job costing WIP reporting Project-based accounting
- Experience with multi-entity financial structures
- Strong operational mindset (not just reporting)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience in commercial general contracting or design-build
- Experience working alongside a CFO or financial advisory firm
- Familiarity with: Procore Bonding and lender requirements Government-compliant accounting
