About The Position

The Controller/Comptroller at Advanced Business Systems is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and producing periodic financial reports. This role involves maintaining accounting records, implementing controls and budgets, and working closely with the company owner to enhance financial accuracy and mitigate risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in financial statement preparation
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Strong analytical skills to analyze reports and data

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations

Responsibilities

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee the accounting operations, including control systems and transaction-processing operations
• Work with staff to ensure timely payment of accounts payable and collection of accounts receivable
• Process payroll in a timely manner
• Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed
• Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and review monthly financial reconciliations
• Issue timely and complete financial statements
• Monitor cash balances and forecasts
• Provide financial analyses for capital investments and pricing decisions
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
