About The Position

The Control Valve Technician III role involves expert-level responsibilities, including adherence to Quality Standardization Procedures for valve repair, utilizing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify contaminated valves, and recognizing missing parts. This position requires advanced proficiency in valve repair according to company standards, and operating various shop equipment such as test stands, disassembly and assembly tools. Additionally, the role includes readiness for manufacturer training, mentoring junior technicians, and leading complex repair projects.

Requirements

• Meets all Control Valve Technician I & II qualifications and requirements
• Proficient in Control Valve Technician I & II responsibilities
• Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
• Completed CV Level III certification
• Successful completion of Control Valve Level III Written and Performance Tests
• Experienced trainer of Control Valve Technicians Level I & II
• Working knowledge and proficiency of leading manufacturer control valve lines
• Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to manage people
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills
• Works mostly autonomously with little supervision
• Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
• Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
• Lifting: up to 50 pounds
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
• Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
• Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs
• Able to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Operating machinery and/or power tools
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
• HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
• 3 or more years of industry experience

Responsibilities

• All additional job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician I & II
• Support Control Valve Technician I & II employees through mentoring and/or on-the-job training
• Perform final quality inspection of valve and/or equipment
• Interpret diagnostic reports
• Potentially assume role as Field Supervisor
• Extensive Knowledge of applicable code requirements
• Fundamental selling skills
