About The Position

The Control Tower Specialist plays a critical role in overseeing and managing end-to-end logistics operations. This position is responsible for monitoring real-time transportation flows, resolving shipment issues, analyzing data for insights, and ensuring on-time delivery performance. The Control Tower Specialist works closely with internal teams, clients, and carriers to optimize supply chain efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a related field
  • Experience in a Control Tower or Operations Center environment is a plus
  • Experience with international shipping and customs regulations is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and other logistics software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and accuracy skills
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is a plus
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
  • Professional certifications, such as APICS or Six Sigma, are preferred
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage shipment schedules and coordinate transportation operations
  • Monitor shipments and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate with carriers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to ensure smooth transportation operations
  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Actively troubleshoot and resolve delays, deviations, and operational challenges to minimize service interruptions
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers, and carriers, providing updates and resolving inquiries
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery rates, service levels, and operational efficiency
  • Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics platforms to manage shipments and improve visibility
