About The Position

The Control Technologist supports and improves manufacturing equipment and processes with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, design, and reliability. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and Engineering teams to achieve organizational objectives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. The position combines hands-on technical support with design, documentation, and training responsibilities while supporting ongoing skill and knowledge development within the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Three to five years in a manufacturing environment with experience aligned to the designated area of expertise.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and change-management skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, troubleshoot, and contribute to the design of work areas within the technical domain
  • Train maintenance and production personnel.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance integration between equipment and core technologies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with systems such as Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, PowerFlex Drives, Kinetix Servos, FactoryTalk View, Stratix Switches, Micro 820, PanelView 800, or comparable components.
  • Partner with Engineering and key stakeholders to define automation capabilities and quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in the development of future-state plant layouts.
  • Create layout drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Identify and recommend operational, quality, and safety improvements.
  • Work with vendors to source cost effective fabricated or machined components.
  • Utilize continuous improvement and strategic planning tools to identify high impact opportunities for process engineering initiatives.
  • Lead line improvement projects and collaborate with Engineering to implement solutions.
  • Support the replacement of bottleneck assets and contribute to capacity building efforts.
  • Optimize new assets to meet world class manufacturing standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Engineering Project Manager, Director of Technical Services, or Vice President of Operations.
  • Work off shift hours as needed for data collection, observations, programming adjustments, stakeholder meetings, or technical support.
