About The Position

As a Control Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the building automation system and equipment in the hospital premises and outlying buildings. Equipment controls include but is not limited to HVAC, lighting, compressors, vacuums, WAGE pumps and lift stations. Assignments also include working with computer software and hardware, such as controllers, sensors, actuators, and networks. The technician will need to read and follow codes, standards, and regulations, program and calibrate devices, monitor and optimize system performance, and troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience as a control technician in a commercial or institutional setting
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
  • Knowledge of controls techniques, tools, materials, and codes
  • Ability to read and follow codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain various types of building automation systems and equipment
  • Ability to work with computer software and hardware
  • Ability to program and calibrate devices, monitor and optimize system performance
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Certified Controls Systems Technician (CCST) level 1 certification required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain DDC systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in DDC systems including valves, actuators, sensors, and other related components.
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Conduct testing and calibrations of DDC devices to ensure accurate and efficient system performance.
  • Implement adjustments to optimize control processes and enhance overall system functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Create documentation for troubleshooting procedures and system configurations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to DDC systems.
