The PLC Programming Technician will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machines that use PLCs to automate processes. Addition, one will also be responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving any electrical and mechanical problems as well as performing all routine and basic equipment maintenance on machines. This position may require the employee to work in excess of 40 hours per week. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

  • Create and optimize programs that control and monitor machines to make production processes efficient and safe
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with PLC-driven systems
  • Reprogram existing machines
  • Provide continual support for PLCs in various operational environments
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Complete work assignments in a timely fashion with minimal direction
  • Evaluate all machinery and provide a list of needed improvements
  • Focus on machine efficiency issues and process improvements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with electrical, hydraulics, mechanical, and programming PLCs is required
  • Experience in manufacturing (food plant or pharmaceutical industry) preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge in machine elements, instrumentation, hydraulics/pneumatics, shop safety, and work instruction comprehension
  • Expert PLC knowledge and experience with programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience performing routine preventative maintenance
  • Experience installing, verifying and validating all new equipment
  • Experience performing machine tear-down and rebuilds
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
